U.S. companies file 337 investigation applications for LCD devices

On April 21, 2020, Sharp Corporation and Sharp Electronics Corporation filed a 337 investigation application with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) in accordance with Section 337 of the US Customs Tariff Act of 1930, accusing it of exporting to the U.S. Certain Liquid Crystal Display Devices, Components Thereof, and Products Containing the Same imported and sold in the United States violated its patent rights and requested ITC to issue limited exclusion orders and prohibition orders. China Xianyang Rainbow Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., TPV Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. and some of its affiliates are involved in the case.
