Total retail sales of consumer goods in the first three quarters increased by 8.2%

In the first three quarters of 2019, the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 296674 billion yuan, a nominal increase of 8.2% year-on-year (actual increase of 6.4% after deducting price factors, the following are all nominal growth unless otherwise specified). Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 268146 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1%.

In September, the total retail sales of consumer goods was 344.9 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles was 31.9097 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.0%.

According to the location of the operating unit, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas in the first three quarters was 253.524 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0% year-on-year; the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas was 431.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.0%. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas in September was 2,911.2 billion yuan, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year; the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas was 53,82 billion yuan, an increase of 9.0%.

In terms of consumption type, the catering revenue in the first three quarters was 32.5565 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year; the retail sales of goods was 264109 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0%. Among them, catering revenue in September was 377 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year; retail sales of commodities reached 307.5 billion yuan, an increase of 7.6%.

According to the retail format, the retail sales of supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores and specialty stores in retail units above designated size in the first three quarters increased by 7.0%, 1.5%, 3.8% and 1.4% year-on-year respectively.

In the first three quarters, the nationwide online retail sales amounted to 732.33.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%. Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods were 5,777.7 billion yuan, an increase of 20.5%, accounting for 19.5% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; of the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing and consumer goods increased by 28.9%, 18.6% and 20.3 %.
