The European Commission has recently decided to levy an 18% countervailing duty on biofuels imported from Indonesia starting August 14. In this regard, Indonesia has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization and stated that it will take countermeasures to resolutely protect the development of its palm oil industry and farmers’ interests; Malaysia also stated that it will work with Indonesia to firmly oppose the EU’s \"discriminatory measures\" .
