Xinhua News: On February 12, a source from India's HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) said on Tuesday that the company will build a 450,000-ton/year high-density polyethylene plant in Bhatinda in 2021. And 500,000 tons/year polypropylene plant to meet the demand of 1.2 million tons/year steam cracking project.
The company currently has 440,000 tons/year PP plant at the same location.
Market sources welcome this news as India's polymer net deficit is growing.
According to trade sources, India’s demand for polymers in 2019 is about 10 million tons per year.
