Sinochem New Network News French specialty chemical manufacturer Arkema recently announced that it intends to acquire ArrMaz (Amaizai), a company specializing in surfactants for the crop nutrition, mining and infrastructure markets in the United States. It is expected to be completed in the summer of 2019.

Amaizai is located in the United States, with annual sales of US$290 million, a pre-tax depreciation and amortization margin of 18%, and a capital expenditure/revenue ratio of approximately 2.5%. The purchase price is based on Amai's enterprise value of 570 million US dollars, and the relative EV/EBITDA multiple is 10.8 times.

The acquisition will strengthen Arkema's high-performance additive business, which together with adhesives and technical polymers constitutes the three major growth pillars of Arkema's high-performance materials.

Amaizai has established an extensive business footprint in North America, South America, Asia, and the rapidly growing regions of the Middle East and Africa, and recently opened state-of-the-art facilities in these high-growth regions. Amaizai has 400 employees and 9 production bases worldwide.
